Great job with the Veteran's Day Program! I am so proud to be a counselor at a school where students show respect for each other, their teachers, and yesterday our Veteran's! Wow almost all of you dressed up and looked classy! 7th grade congrats on keeping our stick! When 86% of students dress up then you know you have a class who works together! 8th grade you should be proud as well!!!

My topic today is FAILURE! Why as humans are we so afraid to fail? If you check out the video some of the most famous people in the world failed miserably, but the key was they didn't give up!!! They turned a negative into a positive and they became better and stronger. Be honest and ask yourself how many of you allowed the fear of failure stop you from trying out for a team or attempting a skill you really wanted to try? I would like to hear from all of you!!!!

A Final Farewell to the Class of 2013!!!!

Well with only 8 days left in our school year I find myself in a reflective mood! As I look back over the last two years I am very lucky to have worked with so many of you. I hope I have earned your trust and that I have made a small difference in your life as you go forward to the next step in your life- High School! In my 28 years in the district this class has been one of my top three I have had the privilege to work with. My only hope is that you stay positive and make a difference with your life. There is so much talent and ability in this class but what good is it if you don't apply yourself?

A special thanks to my three bloggers who took our counseling program into the techno world! Jacob the Webmeister Weber, Kelly the Colorgirl Krause, and Lizzy-Lou Firchow! I told all of you at the beginning of the year how fast this year would fly by and here we are coming to the finish line! I hope this year has been challenging and rewarding at the same time! This class has many amazing individuals so I know you will finish strong and make every last day a good one!!!!!!!! 8th grade, you are already past halfway through your 8th grade year! Where does the time go? Before you know it Mini-courses will be here and gone as well. I guess I want you to realize your time is short so make the most of everyday here at JRG!!!! In my 25 years of counseling at the middle level this class would be in my top three in terms of scholarship, work ethic, and how you treat one another. That is saying something about all of you.
