I realize it seems overwhelming to start thinking about your Freshman schedule but I thought the high school counselors did a good job in explaining the process with all of you! Take some time to think about the courses which make sense for you to take! Do they fit your gameplan? Are you preparing for college or tech school? Try not to worry about what your friends are doing but focus on what interests you! It is your life and future and you need to be in control of it!! If you have any questions about scheduling come down to my office and we will chat about it. I hope you are in the Christmas spirit as Christmas break is coming fast!

Our Spirit Stick is GONE!

Well 8th grade our Spirit Stick has been taken by a very energetic bunch of 7th graders! This is a sad but true fact! I was on the gym floor and the 7th graders were indeed louder especially in the beginning! It is o.k. We will allow the 7th graders to enjoy their latest victory but the true measure of a class is how we respond after suffering our first Spirit Stick defeat. This will make us better and bring us closer as a class. The Holidays are fast approaching and we will have plenty of time to show our awesome 8th grade spirit!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy your weekend!!!!

No More Ice Cream!

This past weekend I found out that the Kimberly Pharmacy will be closing their doors. This is sad because I have enjoyed many a milk-shakes with many students over the years. With no disrespect meant to other businesses, the Pharmacy had the best shake in town bar none!!!! It is like we are losing a piece of small town America cause the Pharmacy was a community gathering place for many. The staff was always friendly and had time to talk with you about anything! I will miss the Kimberly Pharmacy greatly!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Luck 8th grade on your testing! Go after it and make JRG proud! Don't forget to dress up next Tuesday for Veteran's Day as we honor all Veteran's who have made us proud to be an American!!!!!!!!!!

1 Quarter Under Our Belt!!!!

Where does the time go? 1st quarter has come and gone so I hope your making the most of everyday! Ask yourself the question am I giving school the best of what I can give? If the answer is yes give yourself a pat on the back!! If the answer is no ask yourself honestly why not? If everything you do is to the best of your ability then you can't do better than your best! Plus when you give 110 percent to something you feel better about yourself which is good for all of us!!!!!!

Spirit like no other class!

Great job 8th grade keeping the Gator Spirit Stick! I was not really worried, but the 7th grade did come after it and I don't think they will give up easily. I guess that is why you always respect your opponent but you don't fear them! It has been a good start to the school year and I have enjoyed calling you guys and girls in and catching up on what has been happening in your lives. I started taking kids to lunch this week and the first two places chosen was Yen's and Pizza Hut!!!! I do love to eat!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back at JRG for 2008

It feels good to be back after a fun-filled summer. I have enjoyed seeing all of you again and catching up on your life! 8th grade is a very important step for all of you as you start to prepare for high school, but first we want to enjoy each day of 8th grade and make the most of the opportunities which come your way. A special thanks to Alex Rink for helping me set up some links on our class blog. I am anxiuous to share stories and pictures about my Appalachian adventure and hike! What is new with you?

Hi 8th graders! It seems weird to say that now. I made it back safe and sound from hiking the AT trail and I have to say it was the most difficult thing I have ever done physically and mentally! I learned alot and have some amazing stories to share. As soon as I figure it out I will post some pictures of my adventure! I trust summer is going well and I hope your reading many good books! Hey all you awesome 7th graders!!! As the end of the year approaches I just want to remind you to finish strong and not take an early summer vacation!
